An outbreak of Campylobacter jejuni was associated with drinking raw milk purchased from Pasture Maid Creamery, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania. The creamery sold raw milk directly to consumers who provided their own bottles. Public health personnel recommended that the dairy stop selling raw milk for human consumption. The dairy stopped for a time. The dairy owner also owned a separate dairy that sold only pasteurized milk. The outbreak was not associated with the pasteurized milk. A subsequent Campylobacter outbreak involving Pasture Maid Creamery would occur in 2010.
