The Minnesota state health department received reports of illness from a group who had eaten at a Perham restaurant on November 25. Stool samples indicated the illness was due to Norovirus. The investigation showed that the establishment did not have a license to serve food, did not have a hand washing sink or certified food service managers. The plumbing had cross-connections, and raw meats were stored above ready-to-eat foods. Temperature abuse was noted as were issues in cleanliness and sanitation. The health department officials discovered a food worker who had set up the buffet had gastrointestinal illness in the days just prior to November 25.
