2007-2008 Outbreak of E. coli O157:H7 Infections at Sekiya's Restaurant, Hawaii
An outbreak of E. coli O157:H7 began in December, 2007 when six patrons of Sekiya's Restaurant were identified. It was thought that the outbreak was due to poor food handling practices which were corrected. However, additional cases occurred in February, 2008. Again food handling violations were detected. The exact vehicle for the outbreak was not described.
