2006 Outbreak of Salmonella Typhimurium Linked to Sushi, Arkansas
In February, Benton County Health Unit, Arkansas, received a report of an large outbreak of gastroenteritis. The investigation eventually associated the illnesses with recently eating at the Sushi King Restaurant. Consumption of the California rolls was statistically associated with illness, specifically the imitation crab mix ingredient. The outbreak strain of Salmonella Typhimurium was isolated from the stool of infected food workers.
