2005 Outbreak of E. coli O157:H7 at Olive Garden Restaurant, Washington
Four persons in King and Pierce Counties, Washington state, had developed E. coli O157:H7 after eating at Olive Garden Restaurant in Federal Way. Investigators determined that all had eaten the house salad and fresh parsley. The strain of E. coli O157:H7 was common to other concurrent E. coli O157:H7 outbreaks in Washington and Oregon. Fresh parsley from the same Oregon farm was ultimately linked to all of the outbreaks.
