A confirmed outbreak of Salmonella Typhimurium occurred among people who attended a wedding reception in Virginia. Cheese and shami kabob were named as the vehicles of infection. Shami kabobs are a dish made with minced meat, usually mutton or beef, chick peas, and spices, which are formed into meatballs. The ingredients for this shami kabob were not described.
