1995 Outbreak of Salmonella Enteritidis Infections at a Wedding Reception, New York
Caesar salad dressing was implicated as the cause of a Salmonella Enteritidis outbreak among attendees of a wedding reception in New York State. The Caesar salad dressing had been prepared with raw eggs, olive oil, lemon juice, anchovies, Romano cheese, and Worcestershire sauce at 11:30 A.M. It remained unrefrigerated until it was served at the wedding reception at 6 P.M. No dressing was available for testing.
