2005 Outbreak of E. coli O157:H7 Infections Linked to Westfair Foods Ltd./XL Grinding Ground Beef, Canada
A recall of ground beef was issued in British Columbia, Canada, in July, 2005 after two cases of E. coli O157:H7 were investigated. The beef had been sold by Westfair Foods Ltd. to four grocery outlets (Two outlets of the Real Canadian Superstore, Real Canadian Wholesale Club, and Extra Foods.) The beef had been produced by XL Grinding, of Edmonton, Alberta, had been available for sale during the month of June.
