Milk consumers in Saratoga County, New York, and surrounding areas, were warned NOT to consume unpasteurized, raw milk produced at Willow Marsh Farm due to Campylobacter contamination. Five people developed Campylobacter enteritis after consuming the farm's raw milk. The farm voluntarily suspended milk sales on January 22. Preliminary laboratory tests on January 29, performed at the New York State Food Laboratory, found that the raw milk may have been contaminated with Campylobacter. The New York Department of Agriculture permitted legal sale of raw milk from this farm directly to consumers. The farm was inspected and the milk had been tested monthly by the New York State Agriculture and Markets Department.
