2008 Outbreak of E. coli O157:H7 at a Youth Hunting Event, Tennessee
An outbreak of E. coli O157:H7 occurred among people who participated in a youth hunting event in Tennessee. Illness was associated with eating the noon meal, on October 25, and with eating pulled buffalo meat served at this meal. The meal was served and eaten in a barn. Environmental samples in the barn indicated a high level of contamination with shiga toxin producing E. coli.
